Privacy Notice — E2 Innovations Virtual Labs

Our Approach

E2 Innovations LLC provides these virtual laboratories free of charge to students through Virginia Research Institute. We respect your privacy and collect as little information as possible. The labs do not require an account, a login, or a password, and we do not ask for your name, email, or student ID to use them.

      In short: we do not create accounts, we do not track you across other websites, we do not sell your information, and the labs contain no advertising.
    

The One-Time Prompt

The only information request you may see is a brief, one-time prompt — shown the first time a lab is opened on a given device — asking for an institution name and type, plus agreement to the terms of use.

This is stored locally in your own browser on that device, so you are not asked again on that device.
It is tied to the device, not to you as an individual, and it is not sent to us as part of using the labs.
Clearing your browser data removes it.

Optional Feedback Form

On the labs page there is an optional form inviting you to tell us which institution is using the labs. If — and only if — you choose to submit it, the institution name (and any optional details you add, such as department or country) is sent to us so we know which institutions we support.

This submission is entirely voluntary and is not required to access the labs.
It is not linked to any individual student.
It is used only so we can understand where our resources are being used.

Local Storage

The labs use your browser's local storage only to remember the one-time prompt and your progress within a lab on that device. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data will remove it.

Children & Students

Because the labs do not require accounts and do not collect personal identifying information, they can be used without creating a personal profile. If you have any concern, please contact your university/college and follow their guidance.
